I Have Loved You All My Life You came into my life without a warning, without a prayer. You came to me one afternoon alone, barely alive, but fair. You came as only Love can come – unexpected, beautiful, and bare. You came bringing life and promise, shrouded in despair. We embraced, I took your hand and said a silent prayer. You looked at me, began to tremble, couldn’t believe that you were there. Then I looked into your eyes and they told me all that you wouldn’t dare. Something inside of me broke free then, and my heart took flight without a care. Thus it went with my little silent prayer – Soaring high and wide so even God may hear. And thus, my heart shed all its uncertainty and fear; And started to long for you to believe in it and remain near… I’ve tried to make sense of all that’s happened since that day: The soaring heart, the love, the prayer, and all that’s come my way… And I realize that no explanations are needed; there is no lip-service to pay. What seems to be apparent is that I have loved you all my life in this very way. . | ||
